What's Up for Monday, 9/23/13

Now that everyone has talked to me about the infographic topics, the next step is to start looking up research for your topic. For the projects, you will need to find and cite your sources as support for your ideas, not to read as your ideas. You can use as many as you can find to help you out; just remember to use them as support for your infographic, not as your infographic.

This is important because since sources are required, if you can't find any, you may need to adjust your topic. This will need to be discussed with me, so the sooner the better for notification about changes is best.

For Monday, then:

-Bring in all the sources you found. You will use peer feedback strategies to discuss whether the sources are appropriate for your project.

- Refresh yourselves over Readings 5a and 5b to better prepare yourselves for the workshop and quick write Monday.

-We will be closing Stage 2 (Re)Theorizing Misconceptions and moving towards Stage 3 Planning Inquiry. To close out Stage 2, we will be doing our 5 minutes quick write over the reading topics (FYC courses, writing process, and peer review/feedback). Over the weekend, critically think about these questions for the quick write:
- What misconceptions were looked at during Stage 2? What were the misconceptions?
- How was I asked by the readers to re-analyze these misconceptions?
- What do I feel needs to be looked at differently based on the readings? As a student? As a writer?

This is what we will be writing over in the morning. I will collect these and give them back for you to upload in your Drive Stage 2 folders.
