Class will resume in the same scheduled rooms and buildings next Monday, November 4. Be prepared to talk about the readings and writing connections during lecture and your infographics during the workshop. If you see any of your fellow classmates on campus, please let them know, as not everyone has been participating online.
Also, during the workshop Monday, I will be scheduling times when everyone needs to meet with me to discuss where you stand in the class. This will be done during office hours starting Wednesday, November 6, and will not last longer than 15 minutes, so please make time next week during office hours to be available.
For today's discussion due tonight at midnight, compare and contrast the writing processes you use with creating your infographic and with writing longer works (journals, essay, quick writes, etc.). How are you approaching the two? Similarly or differently? What have you found is necessary for one or both? Explore this question by critically thinking about the writing process(es).
Both writing process of my infographic and writing longer works are similar. With both I brainstorm, break down information, and create something out of it. I approach them by doing the exact same steps I use. First, I write down information, break down and analyze each part, evaluate then create my writing process. What's necessary for writing process of my infographic is doing more research for more information.
ReplyDeleteCompare and contrast the writing processes you use with creating your infographic and with writing longer works (journals, essay, quick writes, etc.). The difference is that I don’t really know to design this creatively as for writing it’s just a paper to turn in. I find the infographic more fun to do and interesting then writing an assignment, how are you approaching the two? The infographic I haven’t really put mot of my effect onto it then the writing on the journal my plans for it. I finding out that it isn’t as easy as I though it was going to be. Similarly or differently? I find them differently. What have you found is necessary for one or both? A lot of reach is need for both assignment and time. Both take a lot of writing, especially facts.
ReplyDeleteThe writing process for my infographic and writing longer works are similar in the way that I use my imagination in some areas. Like I can think of an idea on what to write then once I got that I basically take on a spree. The way I approach them is how I am going to build the concept of the stories the way I wanted them to. Some of the journals and quick writes I usually go on what I got on top of my head into the paper. Usually that's sort of the same way I did with my infographic on what I knew already of kobe Bryant in my introduction.
ReplyDeleteDifferences would be that in my infographic I looked for sources and ideas to make my story better and more understanding. During my essays and quick writes I just wrote what was in my head into paper and made it sound decent enough to get the grade I wanted. The infographic has shown me a lot how to write essays and others ways to make other stories better, while during high school I hardly knew what I was doing.
the writing process use while I do my info graphic is the same one that I use while writing a paper. I have to brainstorm to make my thesis. I even have the same problems with both of them I have trouble with putting my ideas together.
ReplyDeleteSome of the differences between the writing process of my infographic and the other writing works like journals, esaay, quick writes etc. is that in my infographic i use a lot of creativity including colors, design differents fonts and other stuff like search for information in different websites and with the other writing works i only use paper and pencil, and i wrote down only my ideas. However comparing both i can say that in this two works i use some kind of draft to then create the final work.
ReplyDeleteBoth the writing process and working on my info-graphic seem very similar but also have some differences. The prewriting and brainstorming are both the same, planning out what i'm going to write is something i used on both. Coming up with a thesis is the same thing for both, writing a main sentence about what I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteOne difference between the two is that with the info-graphic, i get to be more creative with my work and express what I'm working on a lot more.
Writing process of my infographic and with longer writing works such as essays or journals are almost the same, because I need to think, brainstorm and write a couple of drafts but in my opinion the infographic is easier because I don't need to write so many pages and it is more like an art project because I need to add images and be creative, it is so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI approach my infographic just like how I approach my "longer writings." I first write down my thoughts then I try to arrange them, which turn into my drafts, and then I try to put it together. However the only difference is that with the infographic i have to realize is not an essay so i cant put as much information as how i normally would on the "longer writings".
ReplyDeleteI been approaching my infographic like I approach longer writing works like my essays. Because basically I need to brainstorming, planning, researching etc. Like I write down my thoughts into a blank sheet of paper and at the end I see what are the best ideas for my infographic/essays. I been using the same steps for both. Maybe the only problem that I have is the creativity of my infographic. I don't know if It will look appealing or catch someones attention.
ReplyDeleteThe infographic and my essay are very easy to do because they connect each other. If i do first the infographic that would make my essay more easy to do. If i make the infographic first I think that it would be more easy to do the essay then, because they are very similar. They are both very necessary, but I think that they do not depend for each other, they just help each other.
ReplyDeleteThey are both the same for me. I first think on what i want to write about, then I write down the best one and from there I try to brainstorm that idea. When I'm all done I would have trouble to start but ill do my best to figure out what I need. Therefore, I could say they are the same but maybe for others they are not.
ReplyDeleteto me they are both the same. I brainstorm first. then write down all the ideas I have. then read my ideas and try to put them together. then I start creating it. and basically this is why I think they are the same.
ReplyDeletethe infograpic is easy for me then the writing part but I do the some for both write my idea down, and I put them on my infograpic or my essay. but I prefer the infograpic then the essay.
ReplyDeleteAt first i will say that before we began doing our inforgrapic i would say that we learned about the writting process and that helps us a lot to start of our inforgraphic. And that is exactly how i view the two ..because for both there is something they have in similar and that is that they both consist of brainstorming your ideas on a paper..thats like creating your first draft
ReplyDeleteMy writing process and infographic were the same I brainstorm what im going to talk about. I think that the infographic process is more fun because i can be more creative than my writing process because i can put photos in it for my audience to actually visualize what im trying to tell in my story.
ReplyDeletewell the comparazing and the constraction of the process of my infographic to the writing process is that the infographic would be more fun to do that the writing process just because it too much thinking about what could be next to write about and instead while you put pictures and interersting description you enjoy it more.
