So, I've decided Monday's blog theme will focus on the infographic projects, Wednesday's will focus on the writing process, and Friday's will focus on a reading, which will have a reading response due by the proceeding Monday.
In this blog post, I would like for everyone to comment on the progress made on your projects since last week. By this time, everyone should have chosen a final topic, found their academic and reliable sources (remember to keep MLA citations for future reference), and narrowed down a topic thesis statement on what specifically your infographics will express.
Each student should comment on at least two of their peers posts and provide helpful feedback. Look back on the readings for what works as positive, helpful feedback and remember to use your critical thinking skills to really think about ways to help each other.
Also, start thinking about who your thesis statement works for/attracts/would benefit from. Who is your target audience? This is important when determining how your text and overall construction of your projects will form.
Remember, these same steps are used in the writing process. There are two parts in getting a message across: the speaker and the listener; you guys are the speakers - the writers and constructors of what you want to express in your infographics; the audiences are the listeners - be clear and creative so they can interpret and understand what you want to say because each voice is important and should be heard.
The process I made this passed week is looking for more information on my topic. I also received feedback from other peers. I found few articles to support my information. Right now, I'm still working on my thesis. I have an idea on how to create a design and colors for my infographic.
ReplyDeleteHelpful feedback...helpful feedback. What is something that I have not said in our discussions Dora? :) If it helps at all, look at previous info-graphics on your topic. There is a possibility that by looking at them and determining what they were focusing on (and what their thesis was/is), it will help you with yours. Another thing is, you can see if there is a professor on campus with any knowledge of your topic. They could also help you.
Deletewell good job Dora keep up with your hard work, i have confidents with your infographic that when you finish with it the teacher and i will be impress with all the hard work you had paid off in doing an awesome infographic. you can go to the writting center as well so they can give you good feedback about your topic .
DeleteVery hard to comment on two people's post when only one person has posted something at this point. However I will say I have made a bit of progress on my infographic. Still hammering out details on the design and exact layout but I have a general idea of it. My final topic is the same as I expressed before. I'm still having a hard time with my thesis--help! I've never been good creating a thesis.
ReplyDeleteFeedback...
DeleteFrom what we have been discussing. Organize all your information and maybe you will create design to go with it. If your still having a difficulty with your thesis statements. You should go to the writing center located at the Academic Center. They will explain and help you create your thesis.
I am having a hard time creating my thesis specially since im not good at it. I have received feedback on my project. My topic is still the same. All I need help on is creating my thesis.
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't done my thesis statement either due to the problem that I'm not the best thesis maker :/ but in my opinion you should go to the writing center to see if they can help you with your thesis statement :)
DeleteYea go to the writing center, I already went and they gave me good feedback.
Deletewell you can go to the writting center kim and for sure they will be glad in helping you make an awesome thesis dont worry teachers are not mean you just need to communicate and tell them your problems. but yeah the writting center is a good start to go to.
DeleteSince last week I have a progress in finding information for my infographic that must be very helpful. Also I received some feedback from other peers of how to create my thesis, but I am still not too sure about what exactly I am going to put as my thesis. I'll keep looking for the perfect idea to create my thesis. Also I have some ideas about the design and color that I want to use in my infographic, I choose bright colors because I consider that those are great for my topic.
ReplyDeleteAnirely, nobody is asking you to create something perfect. Now for the (hopefully) helpful feedback. Have you considered seeing if there is a professor on campus with knowledge on your topic that could potentially help you? They might be able to give you ideas you haven't yet considered?
DeleteWell for my Thesis is not yet complete. Don't know it what way to put it. I wonder its it going to come out good because I'm not the best in writing thesis statements. But For my infographic I am 100% sure im using “dark navy blue" because that's the official color for criminal justice.
ReplyDeleteYour thesis doesn't have to be amazing, it just has to introduce the idea of your topic, i have trouble with it also, but being a good writer has nothing to do with writing a good thesis. Just come up with a thesis that fits your topic and will help your audience understand exactly what it is your project is about :)
DeleteSince last week i have been trying to find a thesis that goes with my project and so far I think I still have a lot of trouble I have the idea of what I want to express on m y infographic I just cant express it.
ReplyDeleteI think you just need to look for more sources to find the information that you need and then make your keypoints that will be on your thesis.
DeleteMaria if you want we can meet up some where during this week to workon it if you need help, you to Roberto. The writing center has lots of handouts in whatevr you need help in and computers... i'm always here.
DeleteThe progress that I made in my project since last week is that I am sure about the structure of my project and obviously I am 100% sure about my final topic. I found good sources and information, but I had not received feedback from someone else.Neither I know my thesis yet.

DeleteIf your not quite sure about your thesis. You can go to the Writing Center on the 2nd floor at the Academic Center. They're very helpful and will explain how to create a thesis. If you like any more feedback you can join us at the library like at 10:45am. It will benefit us both on giving and receiving feedback.
My thesis is not yet complete, but i have more or less what I need to put, because I was researching. I think I just need to take more time to group my ideas and do the thesis. My target audience is anybody that uses facebook, which is everybody, I don't know a person that dosen't know facebook.
ReplyDeleteim doing a topic similar to yours that also involves Facebook. keep in mind when your doing your thesis, make sure it tells your audience what your trying to prove to them. Make sure it covers the main idea of your topic
DeleteI think everyone is stuck on the thesis. I think the best fit is the writing center because they will give you hangouts and help you with your writing process. If anything the thesis is just bullet points put together in what you're about to talk about in this project. (: Once pass the thesis, i think everyone will be able to do great.
ReplyDeleteto be honest i been busy with other classes and i haven't really put the time required to this projects so therefore i still don't have my thesis,i think i will follow marrissa's advice and go to the writing center to get help.
ReplyDeleteMy thesis statement for my project has not yet been picked. thats definitely the thing i struggle with the most. i have a bunch of great ideas for this project but none of which have been put into action. Ive really been procrastinating too much and putting other work before this project. i have a mental picture of what i'm wanting it to look like i just feel i need more help with it
ReplyDeleteIm like most of my peers i do not have my thesis ready but i know how to design the infographic but for what i have read in the comments the writing center will help you so that will be my help for the thesis
ReplyDeleteI think the solution for you may be to gather more information on your topic, read more aricles. Use the most important information to prove your statement. Again the thesis are just certain points/details that show the reader what (in this case what your inforgraphic is going to be about.
DeleteSo far my thesis is doing great. All of the information that I have found has been very helpful, all of this will be really useful to prove my thesis statement. Maybe the hardest part of this may be to choose which information is important or we want to use .
ReplyDeleteWhen choosing your information you can try to think on your audience which information will be helpful to your chosen audience
ReplyDeleteI'm getting my thesis done, I just need more information about Felix Sánchez and how to get the infographic maker I don't know how to get that :(
ReplyDeleteIt prove a great at thesis but not the info graphic since I don't know which one fit the best.
ReplyDeletei'm still working on my thesis, i have a hard time doing so i think is difficult. i have found some articles that can help me in my project.
ReplyDeleteI have found several sources online about what my infographic is going to be about. i already had some ideas in how how i want to show my audience but im stll having trouble trying to figure out what could be the great way to. A great ideas was giving to me to use a basketball as my layout and it seems im going to use that. my audience would know that cause mostly all people of all ages know basketball and know who kobe is.
ReplyDeleteim still gathering a bunch of pros and cons of the two types of teachers.
ReplyDeletei have been having some difficulties in thinking what to write on my thesis statement, i know is about music and the artist wisin y yandel. theirs to much things i could write about them because they have been my idol since way long but the problem is how could i start writting my thesis to make it good .
